Hi :
I want to go up to Ronghpu monastery and EBC walking from Tingri and come down following the road, for me cars and mountains don,t mix well.Do you know if there are local guides in Tingri to go with them up ?Then to go down, there are several dots in the Lonely Planet map that I suppose they are either towns or hamlets, do you know if it,s possible to sleep there ?Many thanks.
Has anyone travelled recently from Kathmandu in to Tibet and if so what problems did you incur and what advice would you give.
Ideally we would like to travel from Kathmandu to Everest to Lhasa and then on to Beijing by train however we are not sure how easy this will be.

Everything was closed in Xining (PSB included) and the few places open were not in the business of the Tibet permit. So I had to settle for the only place that made me the permit at the moment (Xining Hotel) . They said me the reason for the 800 were " local government taxes". I didn,t believe them but I had no other option, unless I waited four days for the PSB…
