Violence against foreigners in Ulaanbaatar

Hi there,
Are there any travellers here who've been to Mongolia and who have had violent encounters with locals? Especially male travellers who got into trouble with young guys in discos and bars because of chatting/dancing with a Mongolian woman?

Generally speaking - Mongolia is a safe place, and Mongolians are known to be friendly people, following the traditional Nomadic hospitality.

There have been cases of misunderstanding of traditions and local ethics by foreigners that led to some form of violence - but usually this happens when both parties are drunk.
If you go to the more respectful places you will not come across any violence, you can be sure to have a good time, and get a chance to mix with locals.

For a great disco go to the Metropolis Disco Club.
For a pub I would recommend the Irish pub, and Dave's place.
For a nice night club have a great time at the Oasis.

All these places attract locals and foreigners alike.
