Very shprt trip to Macau, feasible or not?Country forums / North-East Asia / China
Hello everyone, I will be arriving in Hong Kong at roughly 3.30 pm(at the hotel) and I want to go to Macau to watch the House of dancing water at 8pm.Will I have time to take the ferry from the terminal near IFC and reach the show's location which according to the map is near Cotai?!
I mean Very SHORT trip to Macau! | 1
How are you arriving HK? If you are flying in, you may consider going directly from HKIA to Macau using Skypier ferry service. Although you'll have to deal with your luggage while in Macau. | 2
There are ferries every 15 minutes from Hong Kong to Macau (turbojet), and every 30 minutes to Taipa (http://www.cotaiwaterjet.com/ferry-schedule/hongkong-macau-taipa.html). Turbojet also run overnight. So, journey is feasible (although agree, if coming from HKIA, perhaps makes sense to go directly to Macau from there. | 3
Hi bittermelon, | 4 | |
Hi drumbrake, | 5 | |
So, you are staying in Kowloon? | 6
Thanks alot drumbrake!!Initially I couldn;t find the address of the terminal..it is 33 Canton road right??! | 7
It is 33 Canton Rd, although that would not be much help when looking for the building! It is actually a large gold coloured shopping centre, with offices, a hotel, and perhaps residential flats on top of it. In the basement is a bus station and taxi stand. If you are coming from Tsim Sha Tsui (around Nathan Rd), I find it is easier to walk through Kowloon Park. There is a pedestrian bridge from the park across Kowloon Park Drive and Canton Rd, which will take you to nearly the same level as the ferry departure. If you do walk on street level, you have to battle with crowds of shoppers and lots of traffic. | 8
Wow!!Thanks so much for your help drumbrake!! | 9
