Taiwan in DecemberCountry forums / North-East Asia / Taiwan
Hi all. I'm considering visiting Taiwan in December - it will be our second visit and we would probably head to the South where it's warmer (we haven't been there). Does anyone have any comments on how busy it will be? We didn't see more than about 20 white faces the whole time we were in Taiwan last time, but of course a lot of their tourists would be from Asia. I'm just wondering if we would need to pre-book things in December. Thanks for your comments.
I lived in Taiwan for years and the north is not cold in winter. A spring jacket or rain coat is about all you need. But that doesn't answer you question. I have traveled to southern Taiwan and never found it necessary or even helpful to book things more than a few days in advance. | 1

Thank you so much for your input, guys. Very much appreciated. It certainly sounds like it will be no problem. SullivanChen - I only asked if I needed to pre-book accommodation in December, which is not at all related to whether I'm interested in biology or not. Biology??? Do you mean the science science concerned with the study of life and living organisms, including their structure, function, growth, evolution, distribution, and taxonomy? Erm, the answer would be 'no'. | 4
The key is where and when you want to stay, and it depends on your itinerary. For example, if you want to stay in starred hotel Kenting with your family in the vacation, maybe you shold pre-book in advance. What I mean by biology , as I said in the title, is biology trip. South Taiwan is also famous for migrating birds in Winter. If you plan to enjoy biology trip in your itinerary, I suggest you pre-book as well. | 5
Many thanks, meczko. Great tips for my visit to Taiwan Nov/Dec. | 6
Hello sullivanchen. Are you a Birding Pal by any chance? I hope to take advantage of that service while in Taiwan for a month mid-Nov to mid-Dec, then reciprocate in Australia. I am trying to make my booking now, but the site is down at the moment. Give me biology over the built environment any day! And computers, for that matter. | 7
