Public transport/ Kunming- Zhongdian

Does anyone know how frequent the buses go from Kunming to Zhongdian? How long is the ride and how much would a bus fare cost?
Is it better to fly to zhongdian?

Neither of these places are in Tibet. <BR>We've caught a bus from Dali to Zhongdian. Think from memory, took about 8hrs.

Yes, Dali -- Zhongdian is 8 hours, correct as of last September.
