One month staying in one place with toddler

Country forums / North-East Asia / Japan

Hi all
We are a couple with a toddler coming to Japan for a month next March. We don’t want to move around too much and like the idea of being semi rural but near enough to buy food. Around Kyoto appeals but we are very new to Japan. We’d like to see blossom too. If anyone knows of any cheaper long stays (of a month) please let us know, or good areas to stay in with open spaces for the toddler. Thanks

Cheaper than what?

What exactly do you want to do in Japan? If you base yourself semi-rurally it might take a long time to get anywhere. A large part of Kyoto (or even Tokyo) is rather quiet, low-rise and you can usually find some small/tiny parks around the corner.

I have cycle toured extensively in Japan and once away from urban areas, rural Japan can get very isolated.

Two questions that you may want to ponder:
Do you speak Japanese? Will you have your own transport?

As said previously, I think you need to explain your thinking before any more meaningful replies can be given.
