Oasishongkong

Country forums / North-East Asia / China

Hello,
I booked a flight with oasishongkong from HK to London (Gatwick). The flight will arrive in London at 6:40h. I would like to book another flight from London (Gatwick) to Hamburg departing 8:00h. This means I have to check in latest 7:30h. Do you think oasishongkong will be on time and I can do it with picking up my stuff in between? Both flights are operating at south terminal.
What where your experiences with oasishongkong? Are they generally on time? If there is any webside with a statistic about this, let me know.
Thanks a lot in anvance,
Mister Losem

personally, NO.

even if the flight is on time, I wouldn't even bother risking it.

Separate ticket so if you miss your connecting flight, they don't have to put you on another flight. you may be forced to buy a new ticket and if that is done on the day, that will cost you a lot as you will probably have to pay published fare (full price)

Basically, you will have to land, taxi to gate, go through immigration and then collect your bag. Even if this is done pretty quickly, you will then have to go to your check in, go through security blah blah blah.

Do you want to connect on to the Germanwings flight? I realise that the next flight is at 1925 and you don't want to wait but I personally wouldn't risk it.

Yes, I would like to catch the germanwings flight. Probably I will book the easyjet at 10:30h to amsterdam and go the rest by train for another 19€. I think this one would be save, even if the flight from Hongkong is late.

Yes, Oasis is a point to point airline. They just guarantee to get you to your destination, nothing about onward flights. I'd say the 1030 flight should be ok, but that's the minimum time I would leave.

I would stick to the 10.30 flight so you can have a relaxing night of sleep and a relaxing flight without having to worry about the prosepct of missing your connection at 8.00h.
