Long weekend in UBCountry forums / North-East Asia / Mongolia
I'll be spending 4 days in UB at the start of October. First priority is to find a hotel to stay in - not interested in the bargain, just want somewhere clean and comfortable. Can anyone recommend somewhere? Secondly, what activities would you recommend for this time-frame? We're interested in art, culture, history, food, but will always be willing to try something odd and unusual too. Thanks!
Here are the links for some of the best hotels in UB. | 1
Ulaanbaatar Hotel About the activities for those days, I would recommend you to have a stay with Mongolian families at some closer National Parks where you can do some horseback riding, camel riding and do some hiking. Good luck | 2
Hi there, about the hotel in UB I can not give you any tip. Though, I suggested you to take a 2/3 days trip to Terelj National Park. Be careful with to travel agency you choose. Make sure you ask about all the details, because most likely things would be as originally planned. Good luck. | 3
You could go hiking, mountain biking, horse riding or have a 3 day jeep tour not too far off UB. Do not need to stay in UB except your arrival and the night before your departure. There many mid-range, clean t5ourist hotels to stay. I spent a month and a half in Mongolia, mostly in the west and Gobi. If needed you can get a friend's phone number to ask specific questions. Goodluck | 4

Hello.., | 7 | |
I arranged a 2-day homestay at Nassan's guesthouse. It wasn't far away from UB (about 1,5 hours by car), but quite a different world allready. In UB itself (but it would be a shame to go to Mongolia and only spend time in the capital), there's also quite a lot to see. There's a big Buddhist monastery, a bunch of museums, a Soviet memorial, a lot of good restaurants (especially the Chinese ones), etc. So with 4 days, maybe spend 2 days in UB and 2 days elsewhere? | 8
