Living in Daejeon for at least a year

Country forums / North-East Asia / South Korea

Hi, my husband is getting a job next year with the university in Daejeon and we are planning to go together with our 10 months old son. However, there isn't much information about the renting a house in Daejeon. Most of the websites show houses in Seoul but we really need to know how much we will be expecting to pay and where to find those information. I'm afraid of bring my little one around looking for houses and not knowing I have found the right one.

Does anyone has any idea where can I view the houses in Daejeon online and their estimated prices? I heard from a Prof based in Daejeon that he paid the key money as high as 70 thousand USD but he won't need to pay for the rental monthly!!! I'm just afraid that we won't not be able to fork up such a huge sum of money and give up this job eventually.

Pls help and many thanks

Stella

Generally, schools provide free apartments and the teachers pay the utilities.

What are the housing terms in your husband's contract?

Don't forget to tell your hubby to bring his hockey equipment. We play at Namsun ice rink every Friday!
