Litang - dead end if I want to go up to Dege?Country forums / North-East Asia / Tibet
I posted this before in the China-forum, but maybe here the chance, that knowing people read it is bigger. Hi, So my plan is, first to go by bus from Chengdu to Kangding. From Kangding there are direct buses up till to Ganzi. From Ganzi I want to do the loop Ganzi-short stop in Yaqing-Pelyul-Dege-Manigango-Ganzi (I want to do it this way, because LP states, that there are no buses in the direction Pelyul-Ganzi). Then I also want to do a visit to Sertar (Larung Gar) and than go back to Ganzi. From Ganzi there is a road via Xinlong down to Litang. The latest LP states, that until the book was written, there was no public transport down from Ganzi via Xinlong to Litang. Right now it seems, that if I want to see Litang on the way back that I have to go back til Kangding and then go to Litang and the same way back. Afterwards I want to explore the area around Tagong and Danba before going back to Chengdu. S e c o n d q u e s t i o n: If I have enough time and the route from Ganzi via Xinlong to Litang is not possible I think about continuing after Sertar via Aba and Hongyuan til Jiuzhaigou or from Ganzi via Ma'erkang and Hongyuan to Jiuzhaigou. Is there a public transport at least for one of these routes? If there is and if my first questions answer is a "no" I think I will skip Litang and include Jiuzhaigou and go down from Jiouzhaigou to Danba and Tagong. T h i r d q u e s t i o n: If there is no public transport how are the chances to find a simlar private kind of "mass transport", like private minibuses I could share with others? Renting a minibus for RMB 450 on my own is no option for me. Hope this was not to much, but I tried to structure my questions. Thanks for answers, I know, that not many people travel there.
