Independent travel to DALANZADGAD, GOBICountry forums / North-East Asia / Mongolia
Upon reading Lonelyplanet, i got impression that one can fly (by MIAT or EZ Nis) into DALANZADGAD from Ulaan Baartaar by oneself, and then hire jeep and guide there and tour around that area. Is it really feasible? How hard is it? We have none of camping gears, sleeping bags etc. If anybody done this, please help us. It might be easier to join another group in UB, but I do not know where I can find the other parties. Is there any particular place I should look into in UB?
Hi Just remember that it isn't as easy as finding a driver in UB and conditions might not be the best but in my opinion it is a much more favorable choice and can be an adventure just on itself. | 1
It is easy to find others in UB. Just ask at guest houses and post notes on travel boards in expat restaurants. Your chances of finding an English speaking guide with knowledge and experience are much higher in UB than in Dalazadgad. Ruth | 2
more ideas and information by reading my webpages: http://www.terramongolia.com you can find good address, driver and so on as we go often our contacts are seriuos. we'll be there again next friday for one month yes as they told you will have more chance to find good drivers and also with some english than in Gobi, and to go by plabne in Gobi is not so worth as wonderful landscape also by going with a jeep from UB. problem sometimes is that on small town who will pick you is not so used of toruists and what you want to do or need, also surely nobody will drive you to sleep to nomads and this is wonderful to do. hoping thsi help a litlle more have nice trip | 3
