First catch the Keisei limited express to Keisei-Yawata. It's 840 yen and takes 55 minutes. Then transfer to the Toei Shinjuku Line to Akebonobashi. It's 360 yen and takes 36 minutes.

Train schedule and fare search site:
jorudan

From 'Narita Airport' to 'Akebonobashi'. Choose 'unreserved'.

I contacted Toei (Tokyo Metropolitan) Shinjuku Line Motoyawata Station.
The clerk says the transfer isn't difficult at all. It's about 5 minutes from one platform to the other.

The Keisei-Yawata and Toei Motoyawata is next to each other. While there are lifts on the Keisei side, Toei side doesn't have any lifts nor escalators. That's the only drawback. The way to the other station is well signposted, so you don't need to worry.

The Keisei limited express runs every 20 minutes and the Toei Shinjuku Line every 7 minutes.

I usually change from Keisei to JR at Funabashi. Sorry this isn't firsthand info.

Have a nice stay.

thanks a lot for that !
the other thing i was wondering is if i will be able to buy all the tickets on the day ?
also looking on that site you sent me (looks really helpful!) i see that route 4 is marked E for easy
i know I'm on the train for longer and paying a bit more but i wouldn't mind if its an easier option
is there any reason why you didn't recommend this ?

thanks again for all your help

Do you mean you want to take the JR Narita Express to Shinjuku, then change to the Toei Shinjuku Line to Akebonobashi? If that's the case, you might buy the 'Suica and NEX' package for 3,500 yen.
Suica and NEX
Suica and PASMO info

This package includes a Narita Express ride to Shinjuku in your case, a suica card (500 yen refundable deposit) and 1,500 yen suica credit.
After exiting the JR side at Shinjuku, you can enter the wicket on the Toei Shinjuku side with the suica. When you exit at Akebonobashi, the fare will be automatically deducted from the credit.

I always recommend this package to other foreign questioners who will land at Narita and that ask for convenient and reasonable mode of transport to central Tokyo.

Why I didn't mention this package to you is because Akebonobashi is located on the Toei Shinjuku Line which is well connected to Keisei Line at Motoyawata, and it's reasonably priced as well. On top of that, at Shinjuku, as soon as you get off the Narita Express, you first go upstairs to the overhead hallway to the South Exit, and walk to the Shinjuku Line platform which is located deep underground, though you can utilize escalator all the way. The transfer takes at least 10 minutes and the station is always packed with people

JR Shinjuku Station map: Narita Express arrives at platform #5 or 6.

NEX timetable

Hope this helps.

No, you need to change trains only once at Motoyawata. First, take the Keisei limited express to Yawata, then change to the local train on the Toei Shinjuku Line. The express doesn't stop at Akebonobashi.

BTW, I'm a local Japanese :-)

Happy travels.
