Hi, how can we rent a van (with driver) to drive us (two persons) and our bikes from Kunming to Dali? Anyone experiences? I don't speak, write or read Chinese Harmen van der Ploeg
Do you want to hire transport for you two and your bikes and get dropped off in Dali or Do you want to hire a van, driver for the way to Dali and time in Dali, and perhaps on the way back? | 1
Hi, i need transportatie from kunming to dali. So the first option | 2
I reached Dali from Kunming last May but it was by coach. It can be an option too otherwise check with your accommodation. Michel | 3
It's often possible to put bikes in the luggage space under public buses, for an extra fee. I've done this before, though not on the Kunming-Dali route. Note that most buses to Dali actually go to Erhai, which is some 15km away or so. It's an easy bike road though, if you have a bike. A taxi from Kunming to Dali would be easy to organize, but getting a vehicle that can safely transport your bikes will be a much bigger hassle. If you don't like the public transport option, you might want to try contacting the Jade Emu hostel in Dali, which is run by English speakers, and surely knows lots of local taxi drivers. | 4
By Dali, most people mean Old Dali and not Xinguan which is the ' new" part. | 5
Can't edit. So make sure which Da!I you want to go /to. Most tourists stay in the old part nar Erhai Lake. | 6
It's not a problem at all to put a bicycle inside a coach from Kunming West Bus Station to Xinguan. Michel | 7
Sorry, I made a mistake in my post. Erhai is the name of the lake! The name of the town I wanted to say is Xiaguan (下关). | 8
No problem at all. Michel | 9
