| manulike12:04 UTC02 Mar 2007 | I am flying into Hong kong this June and intend to tour around China: eg Shanghai, Xian Urumqui Chengdu Is there a website that covers all the internet/no frills airlines internally - such as www.skylow.com or www.skyscanner.com - these only come up with Xiamen-Bangkok with Air Asia. How much will Shenzhen to Xian cost? Guangzhou to Beijing etc - in June Thanks

If you want a very good travel agency I know one in Xi'an , just mail to lucy@delightour.com. Tell her Sandra recommended you, she and Tony are great and will help you any way they canLucy and Tony

I've found that tickets vary in price according to when you buy them, more than anything. I've been told by the local agent I use most of the time that flights are cheaper 1 week ahead, and 3 days ahead. Sometimes, when you are quoted a fare, the agent will refer to a ticket as a "35," "40," "50," or "75." This is the percentage of full fare you are paying for a particular ticket. This is also found on your ticket in the "Fare Basis" column as "Y40." I've paid full fare once, on arrival at the Beijing airport when I wanted to be home NOW, and bought a ticket for that day.
The site reference above is helpful, but don't think that you'll overpay if you use a reputable travel agent. I also use www.travelchinaguide.com for flight schedules, if I'm still planning.
Have fun!
