Busan and Jeju Trip

Country forums / North-East Asia / South Korea

Good day! Thanks for your help in advance!

I am planning a trip for both Busan as well as Jeju.

Planning to go Busan from 3Oct(morning) to 5 Oct from Seoul. Thus, since 3Oct is holiday, I was wondering how Busan would be like and what are the places I must visit? My friends told me that by then the famous Haeundae beach might be closed? Is it true? In addition, anything that I should get from Busan that cannot be found in any other parts of Korea or is the cheapest there?

Next, I am also planning to go Jeju from 24Oct to 26Oct. How is the transport and accommodation like in Jeju? What are the must visit places as well any traveling advice for me? Lastly, by then, would Jeju be very cold?

Thanks alot!

Have a great day ahead!

Cheers:)

I live in Busan, it really is quite boring after Seoul in my opinion. There is an OK temple called Beomosa but the famous Haeundae beach is the most over rated thing I've ever seen. A 1.5km strip of sand with a backdrop of concrete and neon lights ain't nothing to write home about. Check out the temple next to the sea near Sonjeong beach which can be reached by taxi from Jangsan station or there is also a bus (which number??)Check out www.tour2korea for some ideas about Busan.
Jeju on the other hand is awesome. I cycled around but I heard the buses are a pain to catch so maybe hire a taxi for a day or half day and do some sightseeing. Jeju will be lovely around that time, especially the south. Hike up Hallasan, sunrise from Songsan Illchubong, lava caves, hanging around Sogwipo, staying in a minbak by the sea.

I hired a scooter in Jeju and it was a great way to see the whole island and very cheap. I wold pack some warm clothes though for the bike at least, I don't know what the weather will be like. I completely agree with #1 about Hallasan and sunrise from Songsan was my favorite place. It will be really quiet at that time. I really liked inland of the place as well as the coast.

In Busan, I really liked getting the cable car up into the hills, a lovely break from the city.

THANK YOU you so much for your advices!

Now I am wondering where can I get relatively good map for both Jeju and Busan on the internet. Anyone has any idea?

Thanks in advance!
