bus to ali tibet

hi folk, does anyone know when the next bus to ali goes, the junktion or town from where it suposse to be is called abbas or so, near kargigil!? i heard it goes only every 3 days, so i just wanna prevent to be there to early or to late. whats the price anyway? Cheers Olivier

I don't think they will sell you a ticket to Ali if you are a foreigner, the rule seems to be stricter, they would ask you to leave off the bus even if you ask your Chinese friends to buy the ticket for you.

Karghilik is the correct name of "kargigil". Try doing a search for that on this branch.

The bus should be twice a week, monday and thursday. Actually I have heard its around midnight sunday evening and wednesday evening. The Tibet busstation is not at the main busstation wghere you arrive from Kashgar but at Abas. Its also along that road you find good cheap chinese hotels, and also all the truckstops. The trucks usuallu leave late afternoon/evening.
