BUS KATHMANDU TO LLASA

I have read that there is a bus that goes from Lhasa to Kathmandu in 2 days and vice versa. Has anyone used this service?

Also interested in the train from say Chengdu or Xinning to Lhasa, any info on this would be appreciated. I travelled in China for 3 months in 1986 and spent 2 weeks in Tibet and would like to go to EBC this time.

Traveling from Nepal to Tibet and on to China is almost impossible because you need to travel in a tour group from Nepal to Tibet and your individual visa to China is cancelled on arrival in Tibet. Try searching this branch as there are tons of threads about travel to Tibet. You need to go in the reverse direction - China to Tibet to Nepal.
