Access to Yushan NP Trails

In looking at a map of Taiwan, there are two access points for the main hiking area (Yushan Mountain). One from the Southern Cross-Country Highway and two, from Alishan. Which is the most convenient?

The entrance via Alishan (called Tatajia) is definitely the most convenient- this is the easiest (and most popular) way up Yu Shan. There is a third entrance near the town of Dongpu, which itself an be reached via Shuili near Sun-Moon Lake. This entrance also is convenient for climbing Yu Shan, though the route is longer and rougher.
