60 and 90 day Chinese visa

Country forums / North-East Asia / China

I am living in Seoul, and was trying to get hold of a visa longer than 30 days from the consulate here.

They told me that if I want a 60 or 90 day visa, I need to fill out the part of the application form that asks "Name of inviting person or organisation".

Can someone tell me what I am supposed to put in that part of the form? I asked the staff but they just shrugged - they didn't seem to have any idea.

Thanks so much!

Put the name of a hotel?
Cheers!

I got a 90 day from London in a UK passport. In that part, I just wrote down the name of the youth hostel I'd booked in Guangzhou for one night, and I got the visa back fine. I don't think anyone ever checks that part if it's a tourist visa.

Thanks for your advice. We tried to submit the form yesterday at the consulate in Seoul, putting the name of the first hostel that we booked into the section regarding the inviting person/organisation. Unfortunately, this was not enough for them, and they specifically said that they wouldn't accept the name/contact details of accommodation and that we had to list an individual. As we are running out of time here in Seoul we settled for the 30 day visa, which we'll have to extend once in China. Hope this helps anyone else trying to get a 60 day tourist visa in Seoul.
