That is the place where the desires end, greed dissolves, hate vanishes, anger gone and divine peace creeps in; that in when slowly you started to realize you were not mere a human body; there is yet another world within- untouched, waiting for you to explore it and be free from the endless cycle of birth and death. A strength is required to view within and this is the place which gives that strength to you.

I know this question has been asked numerous times but thought I'd post and confirm what I believe to be true.

I'm planning on entering Tibet from Chengdu and then continuing on to Nepal either overland or flying. I see that a Chinese visa is cancelled when traveling FROM Nepal to Tibet but when traveling from Tibet to Nepal, there is no problem. Is this true?

I'm also planning to go in January and understand many regions may be closed but Lhasa and the Friendship Highway are both possible…

We are currently en route to India and plan in May 2011 or so travel from Nepal via Tibet to Kyrgyzstan.
Since this is possible only with a Chinese tour guide, the cost per day 200 €, we are looking for partners.

Hi Eveyone,

Myself and 3 other people are planning to travel to Tibet in a few weeks and could really use some advice. We are arriving in Beijing in a few days and were hoping to get Tibetan Travel Permits there. What we are unsure of is whether we have to book onto an orgainsed tour or not. Some pages say that one person can be considered a tour and you can pay a relatively small amount of money just for a travel permit and maybe a few nights accomodation. Some pages however, say that you need…

Day 2: Arrive in Lhasa in the evening
Day 3: Lhasa (Jokhang Temple, Barkhor Square)
(Jokhang Temple is the holiest temple in Tibet, Barkhor Square is a great experience!
Participate going around the kora with the many pilgrims that come to Lhasa, Use the day to
acclimatize to the altitude)
Day 4: Lhasa (Potala Palace, Norbulingka)
(Potala Palace the home…

Hi All,

I just came back from an EBC tour with this agency. Before my trip I did a little research here and noticed some mixed feedbacks about them but I still wanted to give it a try.
They were great and very much helpful and communicable. They did their best to make it a nice trip and it was a beautiful trip.
Tibet is amazing, go there!

And, if you want to ask me questions about my trip, feel free to do so. I'll be glad to help if I can.

Hello! I'm planning my second trip to Tibet. This time my goal is the Mt. Kailash kora. My contacts in Lhasa told me about the Chang Tang nature reserve. I was thinking about doing the Lhasa - Kailash route along the South and coming back to Lhasa along the North route. Is there anybody that has been there?

Any advice and recommendations would be highly appreciated
Thank you
Alfonso

I'm currently planning a trip through Asia and one of my ideas is to go via Kathmandu into Tibet and than eventually by train from Lhasa to Beijing. So that's why I'm hoping you guys can help me out.

My plan A is to get by bus from Kathmandu to Lhasa via a travel agency, while also enjoying an itenerary, including…
