Visa clarification - Chinese visa and Tibet

We have a 30 day chinese visa. Does that mean that we only have 30 days to travel China and Tibet? Or 30 days for China and additional days if we get the Tibetan permit as well.

30 days for China and Tibet.

You can extend a Chinese visa. See China Visa Extension Thread , but you are very unlikely to be able to extend once in Tibet.

Mentioning Tibet in any form with a Chinese visa is a really big NO.

Agree with 1 and 2.

They will not give you an extension in Tibet. The only exception to this is if there is some issue that is going to keep you from exiting on time. Then, they may give you an extension to cover the extra day or so, or they may just fine you.
