Enriching beauties and wonders of the mystical Buddhist kingdom is known as one of top travel destination in whole Asia, but it’s inconstant travel policies and Tibet travel permit formalities are remained as the biggest challenge for oversea visitors to Tibet, moreover, many areas in Tibet is still unopened for foreigners and there are lots of thrilling wonders waiting to unveil for its enthusiastic explorers around the world, like Grand Brahmaputra Canyon in the east, Kyirong scenic valley in the west and so on.

Since from Mar 2008, because of the political instability, Tibet closed for foreigners whole March every year and still temporary closures can be happen during important China National Anniversaries and sensitive events. Unlike previous years, this year Tibet was closed from Mid Feb due to some political upheavals in some areas and its reopening remained questionable until today. Five days ago Tibet Tourism Bureau announced to all the agencies in Tibet that the permit applications get ready for April groups and it can be applied soon after Mar 28th, since that day is known as the anniversary of people’s liberation day. This afternoon (Mar 29th) TTB announced to all the registered local travel companies that Tibet is reopened for foreign travelers and permit formalities are restored as before, so all the travel agencies and hotels are expecting to receive their guests earliest on April 1st as the permit process takes at least 3 working days.
