Has anyone stayed at or seen this property? It's mentioned in the LP Tibet, and appears on the shambhalaserai.com website, but other references to it on the internet are few and far between - there are no reviews on Tripadvisor (other than one in Chinese from a couple of years ago that is misposted under the House of Shambhala in Lhasa).

I visited this place last summer. Its not bad....nice Tibetan design etc.... It had only just opened and had no guests apart from us there for a couple of hours to soak in the hot spring. Hot spring was clean and HOT. Its success will all depend on how well it is managed - the quality of the food, house keeping etc....
Location is pretty amazing - just up the road from Drigung Til Monastery and just down the road from Tidrum Nunnery.

Thanks so much for the information. Sounds cool.
They haven't answered an email from their website for over 24 hours but they apparently can be booked through the manager of the House of Shambhala in Lhasa - my tour operator called them for me.

TibetYak - the Shambala place is just down the road from the nunnery. (at the old lower hotsprings site) It is not the nunnery or local guesthouse in Tidrum itself - it is a new hotel built by the same company that built "House of Shambala" Hotel in Lhasa. It was just opened at the end of last summer and when I visited it in September it was very clean. The rooms are very nice Tibetan style hotel rooms. I think the rooms were around 300rmb per night. (Don't auote me on that!) They also have a yoga centre but assume that is only open when they have an instructor there. The restaurant wasn't totally finished but I think it might be finished and ready to go for this coming summer.
