Can anyone suggest what medical stuff we should take into the remote/Tibetan parts of Qinghai, Sichuan, Gansu?
What we mean is, in addition to the normal stuff. For eg, should we pack in some sterile needles, suture or will the clinics/hospitals have these things? And how many placres will have a doctor and medical facilities? On this subject, should we have some extra cover for our medical insurance for eventualities that would not normally be covered?
Secondly, are there internet facilities anywhere in these areas? We know it's remote, but maybe in Jyekundo or Dege, Manigango, Xiahe etc. Any current info will be very welcome.
Thanks in advance

I don't pack sterile needles with me, but I do know of other expats living in remote Tibetan regions that do. I would take a basic first ais kit with you. I would also take some basic medicine to take care of stomach issue such as "cipro". If you plan on staying with nomads it is also a good idea to take medicine to fight giardia. These medicines are available at just about every drug store in China.
Jyekundo, Dege and Xiahe all have places to use the interent. Xiahe is a major tourist attraction in Gansu and isn't very remote.
