I will be travelling alone in Tibet from April 26th to May 6th and I am looking for people to share car, driver & guide.
I plan to visit the following cities:
Lhasa
Around Lhasa: Drepung, Sera, Ganden, Tsurphu, Reting

From Lhasa to Rongpuk monastery
• Samye,
• Gyantse
• Shigatse
• Sakya
• Rongpuk monastery and Everest base camp

I would like to know if it is possible just to get a permit to visit Lhasa, find other people in Lhasa to arrange a trip and apply for a permit to visit other cities.

No, you cant just go to Lhasa and form a group there. It has to be all prearranged though you can arrange your own transport then meet others of your group in Lhasa.

Agree....all travel arrangements for Tibet need to be arranged in advanced. Years ago you used to be able to arrive in Lhasa and then put together a group to continue down The Friendship Highway or some other region of Tibet, but now all travel must be arranged in advance.

Most travel agencies can assist you in finding a small group to join to split the cost of a vehicle, driver and guide.

Hi, where are you entering Tibet from and where will head to afterwards? I am planning on a trip but yet to finalize anything really. I am planning on visiting Nepal too.

You must travel agency set you up, you can't go alone Tibet, because you have to Tibet travel Permit,see your message

I'm interested in a 7 or 8 day tour from Lhasa to Nepal (including Everest Base Camp), with arrival in Lhasa on April 26 or 27 and arrival in Nepal on May 4.

I've contacted a few travel agencies (tour is available for those dates) and am looking for other people to join the tour to share costs. If you or anyone else is interested, please let me know!

Estimated costs / itinerary from one agency:

The price is a 8900YUAN for 2 people/ 9300YUAN for 3 people/ 9700 YUAN for 4 people
Includes car / driver / tour guide
Doesn't include food / accommodations / entrance fees

Day 1 Arrive Lhasa .
Day 2 Lhasa with guide .
Day 3 Lhasa with guide .
Day 4 Lhas -Shigatse .
Day 5 Shigatse - New tingri
Day 6 New tingri -EBC .
Day 7 EBC-Nepal Border .
