Hi
Just wondering where the train station is in Lhasa, doesn't seem to be marked on the map in the LL. One person told me to take a left a the Yak statue/roundabout to buy tickets, is that correct??
Most agencies don't seem to sell train tickets but one has quoted approx 650Y.
Anybody able to recommend an agency??
Thanks

Lhasa -- Xi'an should cost 500/518/536 RMB for hard sleeper upper/middle/lower bunk, and 789/825 RMB for soft sleeper upper/lower bunk. That's the raw cost without any commission/charges.
Cheers!

Lhasa -- Beijing should cost 653/675/699 RMB for hard sleeper upper/middle/lower bunk, and 1033/1079 RMB for soft sleeper upper/lower bunk. That's the raw cost without any commission/charges.
Cheers!
The train station is about 14km away from town, of course not shown on the LP map.
You can buy the ticket inside town though, at the Tourism Board, Norbulingka Road, ask around and you will find the location.
Note that you can buy all tickets departing from Lhasa at the Tourism Board, but not the Lhasa-Chengdu hard seats.
If you book the train ticket from the hostel, you probably need to pay Y50 for the handling fee, it seems to be the standard price now.
You can buy the tickets 6 days in advance.
