Hi all,
I'm looking for one or two people to join me (one person) on a 20 day Land Cruiser trip through central and western Tibet, taking in Lhasa, Gyangtse, Shigatse, Everest Base Camp, out to Mt Kailash and on to Yecheng in Xinjiang. 16-17 days on the road, plus 3-4 days in Lhasa. It's a long trip and it covers a lot of miles but the scenery is awesome and you get to cover a large part of the country. It'll cost around Y9000 pp but it's the trip of a lifetime. I'm hoping to go in a month, around 12 April.
Let me know if you're interested.
Cheers,
Barry

Don't miss Tsaparang if you're going that way.
Get the Lonely Planet - Tibet guide. Then tear off the cover and tear out any maps showing Tibet not being part of China and put a book cover on it, and keep it well stashed in your luggage or else it will be confiscated at any one of many checkpoints.
In addition, get Mapping the Tibetan World. Read this in advance of your trip. You will miss so much if you count on your guides to show you everything.
