Hi,
I'm planning to travel from Pakistan via Kashgar to Lhasa and on to Kathmandu in September 2012. Is it possible to get into Tibet this way? Anybody who has done this route in that direction? I'm also looking for travel mates for the tour from Kashgar to Lhasa to share the experience with... and the costs :-)

I have done several times this road in that direction , it is very interesting and also it is quite difficult , I recommend you to book your tour earlier with any local tour operator in kashgar to get more info for your tour ,maybe they can help you to find more people who can be your travel mate , cheers

At the Eden hotel there is a tour operator, think is name is Iman, can recomend, and his english is very good. eden hotel has a website
