My daughter and I plan to visit Tibet next March, I heard that March is the troublesome month, Tibet close this year, last year and the year before last. can anyone have ideal about this?
It s unpredicable. Policy in tibet is like floating clouds. Would suggest avoid travelling to Tibet in March.
Besides, it s also still too cold to go the remote areas like Everest, Kailash etc.

A good way is to keep contact with a local travel agency, you can learn a lot from their daily updated Tibet Travel news. www.pan-tibettravel.com
For the last three years, 2008, 2009, 2010 it has not been possible to travel to Tibet from late February to early April. Given that announcements were not made until the last minute in all three cases, I would not make plans to travel in March.
If you are asking the odds of the same thing happening in 2011, I would say that previous history puts them pretty high.
Personally I would expect that the same thing will happen again this year and would plan accordingly to visit at another time.

For me, March and October are both terible months. I booked a private tour through CITS Tibet Travel in March 2008, unfortunely, I was informed by Mrs Catherine that I have to cancel the trip because Tibet was closed. I got fully refund of my first payment. then I made a new reservation at the beginning of October 2009 with the same company, extremely unfortunely, Tibet was closed again. I came back to CITS Tibet travel for the third time and finally booked a join-in group
tour from Lhasa to Kathmandu this April, and my trip to Tibet was a successs at the end. and i quite enjoyed myself the whole journey.

In 2008 the revolts broke out and it was not only forbidden to travel there but completly unadvicable
I would NOT plan on making a trip to Tibet or any Tibetan areas of western China during March of next year. There is a very high chance that all Tibetan areas, with the exception of Diqing prefecture in NW Yunnan, will be closed to foreign tourists. Permits most likely will stop being issued in late February and probably will not be issued again until the first week of April.
