Hi,
I plan on going to Tibet from Sept.7-20. However, I heard that during that time it is raining season in Tibet and it is kind of dangerous and not the best time to visit. It appears from the forum that not too many people seem to be planning their trip in Sept. (most seems to happen after october). Is Sept. a bad time to visit Tibet?
Thanks!

it depends on the area you want to go to. travelling across eastern tibet during this period will be wet, sometimes impossible with landslides and so on because of the monsoon season (until october). areas in the rain shadow of himalaya ( western, northern, central tibet ) are generally no problem in september.
The first time I traveled to Tibet, it was during the first two weeks of September. I did the usual tourist route, around the Lhasa area, and then the highway to Nepal. The only time I had the least little problem, was in Nepal. About an hour after leaving Kodari on the way to Kathmandu, there was a landslide. The crew was already working on it, so I was only delayed for about 2 hours. All the while I was in Tibet, I only remember a couple of small rain showers, nothing serious. It rained quite a bit while in Kathmandu at the end of the trip.
