Hi There
We are looking at doing a tour in Tibet and are looking at either Windhorse Tours out of China or Windhorse Tours in Tibet?
They are different companies and I was deciding between the two to book - its hard to know what to believe.
Has anyone booked with either of them?
Helen is the contact at Windhorse Tours out of China
Christ is the contact at Windhorse Tours in Tibet - apparently his guides are locals?
Any advice is appreciated.
Thanks

I´m not so sure that #1 actually exists , since all of his posts seem to be made to promote the other company. See also this thread.

There was another post a couple of weeks ago where Chris of the real Windhorse Tours exposed the fake one in Chengdu (?), which #1 is apparently working for.

After reading the other threads, who's 'real' and who's 'fake'? The difference seems to be that one is run by foreigners and one locally. Presumably the local one is less expensive. Both are on TT.

Obviously "Terry Jones" from "Canada" with the same standard phrases promoting his firm is a blatant lie. Now where should I put my trust after that ...?

Ok Ok
Here is some facts to stop the gossip on this thread.
Tibet Wind Horse Adventure (www.windhorsetibet.com) is a Tibetan owned company (actualy a co-op with all staff having some degree of ownership) It is not owned by foreigners however it does employ foreigners to help with staff training particularly with more advanced adventure skills such as rafting, horse trekking, mountainbiking etc. My name is Chris Jones and I work for Wind Horse specifically to help with international marketing and staff training. Tibet Wind Horse Adventure has been established in Lhasa for 11 years.
Windhorsetour (www.windhorsetour.com) is simply a booking office for the Sichuan China International Travel Service. They are based in an office block in Chengdu and use a local agent in Lhasa to supply their trips. They do not ensure Tibetan guides or drivers are used and they use large mainland chinese owned hotels in Lhasa.
Make up your own mind. But please DO NOT contact me for any travel business in Tibet. I do not post here to tout for business. My business is aimed at high end specialist trips/expeditions etc and walk-in trips in Lhasa.....we DO NOT arrange independant travel or budget trips in Tibet.
Hope this helps clear up the confusion.
Cheers
Chris
