Hi!
I'm back to my visa problem. Finally I've got a 6 months multiple F-visa in Hongkong.
Now I hear that there is a problem to get the Tibet Permit with that one. Does anyone has an idea what story this is? I want to go to Tibet next week from Chengdu, either by Air or Train. What do I have to do?
Greetings! susa

I have friends using the F visa (also got it in Hong Kong) and got no problem when applying the permit in Chengdu.

Hi!
Thank for the answers. The agency I contacted via Email told me that they need a certificate to prove where I have got the visa from. no explanation.
Where did you apply for the permit?
Greetings, susa

Well I don't know....but I was told in no uncertain terms that all Chinese visas are revoked once you get your permit for Tibet, so I didn't apply for my F in India or Nepal (which I had planned to do), but went to HK afterwards. It won't stop you getting the permit, but will it still be valid to re-enter China is your big question??? Just be careful of the agencies, they will say anything to sell you the permit.

Just to clarify........your Chinese visa is only cancelled when applying for a Tibet permit in KATHMANDU....not from within China.

Getting a Tibet permit in Chengdu with a F visa issued in HKK is no problem. Ignore any bullshit stories agencies tell you. You should be able to simply apply straight up at any fully legit agency and have your permit and flight tickets ready in a few days.

You F visa will also be good for re-entry into China from any international border EXCEPT for NEPAL.
