4 in jeep

3 passengers and a guide and driver , so totally 5 people

sometimes as many as 4 passengers. I think most companies figure a maximum of 4 using a jeep.

This too was my concern when I was booking my Tibet trip . The 4WD Toyota 4500 we had can accomodate 6 people including the driver and guide. 2 in front, 3 in the middle and 1 behind. But if you have a lot of luggages then there might not be enough space for the person (usually the guide) to sit behind. We brought along a ~35ltr backpack each.

If there are only 04 paying Tibetan agency provide 4 whl toyota jeep where 04 + 01 driver and one guide can be adjusted. we did many time like this

we had only a driver who was the guide. so we fit 4 no problem. does one now have to have both driver and separate guide?

Not all guides can drive and not all drivers can speak English well enough to guide.

true enough, but we shopped a bit til we found a good match; between the driver's english and his and our chinese we were fine.

as I said 5 people in total fit into a landcruiser/jeep !!!

so if you only have one jeep and .... if you count a guide as being a person then give them a seat in the landcruiser ...but if you think of them as something else then stick them in the back with your luggage and pretend they are used to this so it is ok for them to travel this way....actually having travelled with the luggage myself i can tell you it is not ok or comfortable for the amount of travelling you usually do on those roads

p.s.it would be a very rare thing indeed as a foreign tourist to have a driver who is guide as well.
