Hi,

Does anyone here have any idea if Taiwan offers any unlimited internet dataplan for the iPad Mini? Prepaid simcard? I was in Bangkok last month and they have these unlimited dataplan (prepaid) and covers one week.

Is is available at the Taipei airport? Thanks!

Hi,

I'll be in Taipei the 1st week of April. How's the weather during that time? Is it still gonna be cold?

Hi everyone,

We are thinking about visiting Taiwan in a couple of weeks (end of March) for about 10-12 days to explore some of the more scenic regions and doing a lot of hiking.

I'm trying to come up with a good itinerary, but had a few initial questions to get me started.
1) Is it too early to consider going up 3000m peaks? What is the snow cover like this year?
2) I've heard the rhododendrons are spectacular in Taiwan, is this a good time to see them or is it too early?
3) What is the permit…

Alishan

We have two nights in Alishan. On one day we are taking the narrow gauge railway, on the other one we probably will watch a sunrise (sea of clouds etc.). Where should we stay? By the way, we'll have a car.

I understand that the railway starts in Chiayi, on the other hand other places in the area seem to be more scenic.

Hey,

I'll be living/studying in Hualien City for 1 month from mid April to mid May and need to find short term housing. I'm looking for a basic bedbathroom+internet+fridge/freezerAC setup at minimum, kitchen/kitchenette and washing machine a plus. Does such a thing exist on a monthly basis? I am not overly price sensitive but just looking for a cheaper option than staying in a guesthouse for 28 nights. Something closer to Tzu Chi University is preferred. Appreciate any insight---I realize it is…

We (family with two kids 5 and 9 years old) are arriving in Taipei on Monday, March 25th at 11:40 and departing from Taipei on April 6th at 18:25.

Roughly the idea is the following:

Spend a day, max two in Taipei (I've already been there and will spend more time before the departure). Perhaps visit Danshui.

Qilan forest: is it worth visiting this place?

Train to Hualien. Visit the Taroko gorge.
How long should we plan for Hualien/Taroko? 2 days?
Should visit Taroko wih a tour or is it better…

I'm in early stages of planning a two week solo trip to Taiwan in early April. I wanted suggestions/comments as limited time and unsure about weather conditions. Looking to spend as much of my time in the Mountains/Springs/Coast with starting in Taipei and flying out of Kaoshung

This is my idea at the minute but please comment as much as you like - I won't be offended!:

27/03 Arrive Taipei Airport late in evening
27/03 - 30/03 Taipei and around - day trips - springs, walks etc
30/03 - 01/04…

I have been traveling around South West China for the last three months and, while finding it interesting, enjoyable and rewarding, I am now pretty much exhausted. (Those of you who have visited China in recent years will know what I mean!).

I know almost nothing about Taiwan but I want to pay a quick visit while I am in this part of the world. However, in view of my recent travels in China, I also need somewhere to rest up for a while -- gather my energy and organise my thoughts and…

I'm wondering if anyone knows anything about visa free entry in Taiwan for Canadians. I've read some places that they give you 90 days, and some other places say it's only 30. Could someone please clarify this for me?

Also, I'm wondering once my 30/ 90 days are up if I can just book a flight to a different country for 2 days or so, then fly back and get another 30/ 90 days? Or do I have to apply for a visitor visa at that point?

I'd prefer to get a visa before I go but I'm travelling and…
