In October I'm taking my kids - 9 and 12 - to Tienhsiang / Taroko gorge where I visited once in 1996. I stayed in the Catholic hostel dorm then; now I'll need a room (or two). Since the Catholic hostel doesn't have a website, can anyone tell me whether they have private rooms, or where we should stay instead? We want simple and inexpensive but clean and safe.

They do have rooms.

Last summer I stayed at the Youth Activity Center. They have a variety of rooms.

looks nice but pricey - is it in the town? - hopefully the Catholic hostel is less $

It is up the hill from the Catholic hostel.

It is certainly less expensive than the Grand Formosa!
