You area student. I presume that mean you are under 25. In Taiwan the government provides free local youth tour guides to english-speaking youth. They aren't travel experts, but they are locals.

I can't seem to properly link the actual website, but this seems to be the "root" website, http://eng.taiwan.net.tw/

Oh and taroko by scooter can be a little rough if you don't constantly pay attention to traffic.

I am living in Taiwan.
Taiwan has much to see , to eat and to experience if you planned your trip very well.
and Taiwanese are also friendly, you will feel it when u r here.
u must love here. LOL

we also have many ceremonies in different seasons and each month.
remember to go to night markets and if possible, ride bike in Hualien.

I'd suggest spending some time in Kenting if you can - the weather should be pretty hot around the time of your visit, so a trip to the beach might be in order! There's a ton of delicious food on 墾丁路, people are friendly and every water activity you can think of.

Have you sorted out accommodation for your trip yet?
