Can anybody tell me if there is a ferry from somwhere on mainland China to Taiwan? In desember I am traveling from Vietnam through China to Hongkong and hope to find som way to get to Taiwan without haveing to fly. Flying is boreing.

In short, there are no direct ferry trips at the moment. www.seat61.com is usually a good source of information for non-flight planning.

From Taipei to Kinmen it takes about 30 mins by plane.
By ferry ,will needs 60~90 mins to Xiamen from Kinmen.
