Hi,

I am planning a week-long family trip to southern part of Taiwan end of this month. Four adult (up to 55 years old) and my son (4 years old).

We are keen to spend 3 days to cover areas of Alisan, Rueili and Guanziling Hot Springs.

1) I wonder if we can do it with public transport without much hassle. My son will love to take the Alisan train ride, but without a car, I think it may be difficult to reach other places. Any advices on traveling with or without a car in this region will be appreciated.

2) Is there a good place we can use as a base so that we can spend all 3 nights while touring the region?

Best regards,

Philip

Hi,

Sorry for my ignorance, I have just realised that Alisan railway and highway have been damaged by typhoon recently.

I know the road is partially open. Is is adviceable for foriegner to drive up there? I also understand that they have free shuttle bus,has anyone got the first hand experience?

Should we be going at all?

Best regards

Philip
