Hello all,

Hello all,

I am a stupid Australian who cannot learn foreign languages.
How will I cope in South Korea?
Will the knowledge of English be similar to what I found in larger cities in China?
In other words, some English in hostels and younger people on buses and trains.....I could get by in China without problems.........
Hello all,
I am beginning research for a documentary a friend and I are hoping to shoot in Seoul summer 2014 and need some good info on where to look. It is about marriage laws and the current state of Korean marriages and we are looking to work with Korean and expat subjects. So I would like to know if anyone can refer me to any good forums for expats living in South Korea and also news and other websites about Korea but in English. My friend/co-director is Korean, so she knows plenty of…
It seems that most people go to Ulleung-gun from Pohang.
However, there also seems to be a ferry from Mukho near Donghai.
Has anyone taken this?
And what does this mean?
Please be cautious about different location of Mukho Harbor and Mukho Passenger Terminal.
Hey Guys,
I am trying to find somewhere in a national park to escape to and stay for a few (winter)days.
Anywhere peaceful, with easy access to walking trails that I can hop a bus to from Seoul would be fantastic?
(Names of accommodation would also be wonderful).
Thank you!
Hi,
I have a ticket to go to Seoul for 8 days just after Christmas but unfortunately I have very little money to spend. Can people suggest cheap places to stay in Seoul and perhaps Kyeong-ju (if I can get that far)? The Khaosan Insadong Seoul Guesthouse seems okay on its website - are they connected tot eh Khaosan group of hostels in Japan?
Any advice most welcome.
Ian
I have booked a twin room at HOTEL ICON in SEOUL, for myself and another lady. We are in our mid sixties traveling from Calgary, Alberta, Canada in September.
I am starting to get concerned about the shower situation - no separate bath so water flows all over the bathroom!
Please can you send me your experiences with this type of shower! For example do you close the bathroom door? Do you need to take towels and every item that would get wet out? Do you wear your provided slippers? How long does it…
I was in Pusan exactly 40 years ago tomorrow December 6..
While there I ate at an outdoor eatery in a market area near the port that was a table next to a 45 gallon drum in which they boiled a whole pig carcass over an open fire. They cooked rice on a fire too.
You got a big bowl of rice filled with pork broth served with huge chunks of meat cut off the pig which they hoisted it out with a come-along chain lift mechanism. Everything was served with tons of fresh garlic and kimchi.
I guess…
Following on from my last post I was just wondering how busy traveling in Korea is during New year and how difficult it may or may not be securing accommodation?
I will arrive Inchon airport Sunday 29th December and take the bus down to Busan. I only have 5 nights and have already been to Seoul before so was considering 2 nights in Busan, 1 night in Gyeongju and then I am open to suggestions.
I don't want to travel to far and wide as I don't have the time so would prefer to stay around Busan…
Hi
Planning a trip to Busan for New year. I live in Weihai, China and flights to Seoul are very cheap and about $130 more to fly to Busan.
I am thinking about flying direct to Seoul and then taking a train or bus down to Busan. I am not sure if this will work out cheaper or more expensive than flying to Busan but to be honest I quite fancy the trip down to Busan on land.
Anybody have any advice on train or buses, including prices and availability around New year (Probably December 29th).
