We plan a 3 night stopover in Seoul during July.We are an older couple
What is the best option for a traditional (midrange price) accomodation. Does this then place you far from tourism sites- should the stay be only one night?
thanks

Plenty of recent threads on this. Get a bus into town, have a look around myung dong, some of the palaces, insa dong, have some great Korean food, then head back to the airport. It will be very cold, but if you are prepared then it should be no issue.
Does anyone know if there's anywhere in Seoul where I can buy a pair of those gloves that have the foldover thing so that they can either be fingerless, or like mittens? My wife has been after a pair, but I've looked everywhere and cannot seem to find them anywhere. If anyone has seen them around, please let me know. Ta.
hello all,
I will go to Korea from Japan by taking the overnight ferry from Fukuoka to Busan on Jan 15, and I will catch my from Seoul back home on Jan 23 in the evening. Here is my rough it itinerary. Please let me know what you guys think. I'm most into history and culture
Jan 16: Busan
Jan 17 and 18: Gyeongju
Jan 19: Daegu/ Haein-san
Jan 20: Andong then take the bus to Seoul
Jan 21-23: Seoul (including DMZ)
Am I missing something or rushing too much?
Thanks a lot.
Peace,
Roman

So... I'm heading to South Korea the day after tomorrow, just wandered into the travel agent and found tickets were quite cheap, so pulled out the credit card, and here I am trying to figure out what I'm going to do while I'm there.
I'm just going for one night ā arriving at 12pm on Thursday, and leaving 2pm on Friday, I'm taking the Beetle ferry from Fukuoka to Pusan/Busan. Has anyone ever been, and for a short amount of time? I'm thinking food and shopping is pretty much all I'll be able toā¦
We fly in to Seoul at 04;40, departing the following day at 13:30. (In January).
We hope to stay at the Ibis Myeong Dong hotel, but don't seem to be able to contact them direct by email. We want to find out what is the earliest we can check in as we're not keen to pay for 2 nights accommodation but will need some sleep.
Two questions please:
What are the expected temperatures in Seoul mid January ( we are travelling from Palawan in the Philippines, with only light clothing).
What time do theā¦
I have a 13 hour layover in Seoul on Jan 1. I was wondering if the hop/on bus is operating on that day. I can't seem to find this info on the web site. I know I can take a subway or bus into town (about a 90 minute commute. My flight arrives at 7am and doesn't leave until 9pm. Anyone been to Seoul? Let me know what I should visit on my brief excursion.
Thanks
I have been offered a job as a teacher in Pohang, South Korea. I just wanted to ask if anyone has been there? I know it is an industrial town that is dominated by steelworks, but I would really appreciate an opinion on the town from someone who has been there.
Thank you.
Lou.
I'm a collector of old Paper Money and I was wondering if there were any big numismatic dealers in Seoul with reasonable prices.
