How can I travel to Mokpo from Jeonju? Train? Bus? Is there direct transport, and how long does it take? Thanks!
Hi everyone,
I apologize for being ignorant and not knowing the answers to seemingly easy questions. I am planning a trip with my BF to go to S. Korea and Nagoya Japan. My nearest and dearest friend is teaching english in Nagoya. Well, she has been for many years now but I've always gotten distracted by other travel plans to visit her. Her contract is up in March 2013. With my BF's job being the way that it is I have to plan waaay in advance to schedule any holidays past a weeks length…
Can anybody help me to find a hotel/hostel in Seoraksan for 50 USD/night or less? I need a room for 13 and 14 October and I have a lot of problems to find any at this price in Seoraksan. It will be high season in October so I would avoid going there without any booking. I sent an email to Seorak Morning, but they did not answer. Sorak Garden indicates only phone nr (no website, no email) but I do not speak Korean. The same problem is for Mt Sorak Youth Hostel - their website is only in Korean.

We are planning to come to south Korea over Christmas new year, we plan to spend a few days at the snow and then do some touring. The problem is what to do with our snowboards, In Japan we used the Takuhaibin service to send our boards from the ski fields to the airport which we then picked up a week later before we got on our flight-is there something similar in south Korea? I was also have been tring to see if perhaps we could leave them in a left luggage in Seoul but it all looks like small…
Hello,
I am going to be in South Korea in early October and I would be keen to do 4/5 days hiking and I was wondering where people recommend to go? I would rather go somewhere a little more off the beaten track than be following lines of people walking up the hills (I note from a number of other threads that some of the trails are very busy).
Anyway, any recommendations/tips would be appreciated.
Thanks
Hannah
As I will only be in South Korea for a week and want to share my time between Seoul and Gyeongju, can anybody tell me the days of the week on which the USO tours of the DMZ are run. I gather that they are done twice a week, but what days of the week are those? Also, do you know the price?
Is it possible to change Thai Baht to Korean Won in the airports and/or banks in Seoul?
Is changing money in the banks still a nightmare?
Is the exchange rate for USD better in the airport or banks - does it matter?
We were advised to not trade THB to Korean Won at the airport in BKK
Would we just be better off using my Visa debit from USA?
Thanks

I'm planning a South Korea itinerary for 16 nights (I'm going in 2 weeks), which I would like to involve culture, hiking, nature, and water. I can't quite decide on the best plan. I want to stay at no more than 4 places, and avoid long bus rides, but make sure I see lots of the country. My first two and last two nights are in Seoul.
The places I know I definitely want to visit are Seoul and Gyeonju. I've also heard that Seorak-san National Park is a fantastic place to go walking, but I also…
