Hi, just wanted to share with you a short trip destination in Korea.
My boyf was visiting from the States and I wanted to show him a traditional side of Korea. I came across this place called Sun-Bi-Chon while surfing the web and decided to go.

It is near the famous Bu-Seok Temple (south of Seoul, in Kyungbook province) and it is a huge complex of replicas of traditional Korean housing and school. You can visit for a day trip or decide to stay at one of these rooms. Rate was 45,000 won for a double room. Larger rooms are also available.

I loved how this place was really quiet and is surrounded by beautiful pine tree forest. On weekdays, the place was almost empty.
The bathroom is modern and clean but there is no bed or A/C in the room. Very beautiful housing. Definitely worth staying one night for the experience. You might need to make reservation ahead for Sat and Fri nights.

You will need to speak some Korean, as you need to take bus from the main bus terminal from Seoul to Youngju, and then transfer to a bus that goes to Sunbichon. No one in the area seem to speak English. It is about 3 hour bus ride from Seoul and additional 30 min on local bus.

Check out photos at www.sunbichon.net. Unfortunately the site is in Korean only.

Really beautiful place and a visit to Buseok Temple is a must!!! This temple alone is worth the trip. Must be one of the most beautiful temple in Korea.

Also this area is famous for apple, jinseng and beef. Make sure you try Jinseng bulgogi while you are there.
