Please Help
I have been offered a Teaching contract, I’m needing some advice

I have a few questions
* What is the best way to check if the school is decent? I’ve just started looking online but have not had much joy –so far
* The Language School informed the agent that I was successful, straight after the interview, is that normal?

  • What are the normal/standard Teaching hours for a ESL Teachers? The contract says 30 if that too many?

Actually any advice in regards to the Teaching contract is much appreciated

I have one more day to make my decision

I suspect that you will do better to try an esl forum like Dave's eslacafe.com and not a travel forum for this information. Join that forum and then ask on the South Korea section.

1) Most importantly - speak to current/former teachers at the school you are considering working for.

2) I work a 30 "hour" week in a hagwon in Korea, and this is normal, but in reality each hour is only 40 minutes - because that's how long each lesson lasts.

Make sure the contract stipulates that you are paid per class (which are usually less than 1 hour long), instead of per actual hour you teach.
