I'm off to Korea in 10 days and wondering whether to bring shampoo and conditioner. In Japan I only carry a tiny emergency supply because almost every hostel/minshuku includes it. I have very limited packing space because I will be moving on to volunteering in the Philippines and Japan after.

You can buy both everywhere...conditioner is called rinse.

The pre-Japan portion of my trip is 4 weeks.

The point is that I don't want to carry more than I need so I don't want to buy a bottle that contains a several month supply when I only need a couple weeks worth. It would be easier and cheaper to bring some from home but i want to know whether I should bring 20ml or 50ml.

You can buy small bottles everywhere; convenience and grocery stores abound.

I just got back and you can buy small bottles or the hotel/motel I stayed at had a big bottle of each in the shower to use.

Most motels will provide shampoo and often rinse, if you stay somewhere that doesnt you can buy travel size ones at local convenience stores.
