Hey Folks,

I gotta go to S.Korea for a night or two and have no idea about the place other than how to say "how are you" in Korean.
Can someone give me some ideas for some cheap, clean, safe places to stay, and how to get there from the airport?
It would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in adavance!

Hi, traveller!

well, I wish you had mentioned on what purpose you're visiting Seoul.
If you're on business trip or on luxurious trip, there are loads of hotels avaiable at different prices, but even at the cheap palces, the services and cleaness are over average considering their prices.

I'm Korean, living in Korea. I live in Southern part of Korea, quite far from Seoul, though.
A few months ago, I had to take a trip to Seoul with my Canadian friend.

We stayed in 'Guest House Korea'. I'd recommend here if you're just travelling and want to stay at a cheap place. The staff spoke English and the service was quite good.
the price was best we could get around that place: ₩15,000(around 15$u.s) for 6- beds dormitory room at that time, but it's now ₩17,000 still quite good price, considering high prices of Seoul(Seoul is one of the most expensive cities in the world in some ways.)
you can use the link below to get more information about the place.

*one thing that you need to know and that they don't mention in their website: you need to prepare your own towel, or buy one at nearby convenience store. They don't provide you towels. Also, you're gonna have to share shampoo and soap unless you prepare your own.

Hope my brief information about my exprience would help you:)

p.s: you can say 'Annyeonghaseyo' to say hi

I would also recommend Guesthouse in Korea. Jongno Sam Ga subway stn is close by. They have a washing machine with soap powder & internet. If you don't like dorms, they have private rooms for around 24k won.

Hey, the best way to get into Seoul from the airport (assuming it's Incheon) is to get the limousine bus. It costs between 7000 - 11,000 depending on your destination, and takes between 60-90 mins depending on traffic.

"I stroll round to see if there is anything to be seen, but the scenery is much like that you would enjoy if you were inside a blancmange."

I'd recommend the Holiday in Korea Hostel, its a bit hard to find, but a great location near Insa Dong.
