Anyone know if there is a grand annual event on the first weekend of every May in Seoul and what is it about ?

AFAIK, there is no festival that is exactly on the first weekend of May.

However, Children's Day is May 5th. There's lots of things for kids on that day in the parks.

Also, Buddha's Birthday is usually in early May, and there's festivals for that.
