Can you just turn up at the tourist information office, speak English, and get a room.

Nothing at hostelbookers or agoda turns me on!

Want a room with shower and toilet and a terrace/garden to have a drink and a smoke!

And not too expensive!

Weekend!

Is this Andong in South Korea? If so there are many motels around the bus station and a few in town. Nice city.

I just turned up. Just walk into any motel near the train or bus stations and ask. They are around 40,000 to 80,000 Korean Won. The one for 110,000 would be top end.

At all the touristy towns they speak reasonable English at the Tourist Info. The only place where I had a problem was Iksan (but then again, that wasn't even in my Lonely Planet)

There's a place called Peter Pan Hostel (odd name I know). It's a really chill place to stay in a great location in central Andong. The owner and staff are young and cool, they will hang out, cook for you and even drive you places. They have a huge rooftop for BBQ's and partying.

I rolled up to Andong Hotel and got a really nice room for 40,000.

Shower, toilet, computer, WiFi, fridge, TV, AC, toothpaste, something which looks like a burial shroud which I think is a dressing gown!
