Hi guys.

Just wanted some opinions on this. I'm entering China with my Australian passport with Chinese visa inside, and plan on travelling by land to Erlian and then crossing into Mongolia, switching to my British passport, as apparently British citizens can obtain a visa on arrival to Mongolia. Can anyone confirm the following:

1.) Can travellers with British passports really obtain visas on arrival to Mongolia?
2.) Is it possible at a land border crossing?
3.) Will switching passports over…

I will be staying near Dalanzadgad August 26-29 and am looking for a dependable, trust-worthy driver or guide. Basically, I just need someone to take me and two friends around to the major sites in the area. They don't even need to speak English, we really just need a ride. So far, all the prices I've been quoted way exceed our budget - we're talking like $1000 per person. Does anyone have any suggestions that are more affordable?

Hello
Was wondering if anyone has actually entered Mongolia (particularly from Russia) since Mongolia went visa-free for EU citizens. I'm concerned there might be some problems to arrive without a visa because the regulations are so new. It would be good to hear of anyone who has recent experience crossing from Russia to Mongolia. Thanks

Hi there,
I'm heading to Mongolia with my own inflatable kayak and plan on juming into the river in Moron and go all the way down to Ikh-Uul, about 160km downstream, probably a 6- to 8-day trip.
But so far I'm alone, which is neither fun nor really safe. Anyone wanna join? You'll need your own gear.
I'll be in Mongolia in a few days and might start this trip in early august.
Let me know.
Alex

Hi
My boyfriend and I will be travelling on the Trans Mongolian railway in early October and are planning to stop in UB. We will have 4 days and 4 nights in Mongolia and want to make the most of our unfortunately short trip. We'd like to experience the nomad lifestyle, see the countryside and possibly do some horse riding (neither of us are experienced riders though!).
Our initial thoughts were to do a day or so in UB and a 2 night ger camp stay, but not sure where?
We're looking for…

Hello

we are 2 British cyclists on a bike ride from Tromso (Norway) to Tokyo. We are heading to Mongolia and will be there in mid September. We are just doing some route planning. We have Russian visas and one possibility for us is to cycle through the Altai region and then cross into western Mongolia near Olgii. We have heard that we would need to take transport over the border. But our main question is about registering once we arrive. Ok, so we just heard that Brits can now go to Mongolia…

While exploring Ulaanbaatar for my second day, came across to this tour agency (HET MONGOLIA) that provide a free tour guide for a one day city tour. I couldn't really believe it but that is what I got.
All I needed to pay was guide's expenses (lunch, dinner, transportation plus some tip)

I thought it was some kinda special promotion but it wasn't really that. They offer it as a service.

So this might help those who need a free tour guide for a one day UB tour.
You can reach them here if…

Hello

We are in UB and the traffic is crazy. We received very mixed info on how to get to the horse race in Khui Doloon Khudag. The tourist info told us to take a train and then a bus. someone else said a bus. Anymore information? We want to go Saturday morning and be back for the closing ceremony in the afternoon. Is this possible? How far is it away?

Thanks
Tinka
