Now MIAT has joined to meet the high demand for domestic flights - and will offer the following flight routes from June 21st 2009
Ulaanbaatar to Murun airport on - Sunday, Monday, Wednesday, and Friday - for travelers going to Khovsgol lake in North Mongolia.
Ulaanbaatar to Hovd airport on - Sunday, Wednesday - for travelers going to the Altai mountains in west Mongolia.

Hello,

I've just got back from a short tour around the Bulgan province and now want to spend the 3 weeks seeing the Gobi, the ice gorge at Yolii Am and I'd also like to see the Orkhon Valley (by horse if possible). I'm looking at different tour options and wanted to know if anyone wants to make up a group. I'm pretty flexible on places and just want to make the most of the 3 weeks.

I have a Hong Kong passport and can can enter Mongolia for free for 14 days. After two weeks I would like to extend my stay. Is it possible to do that and if so, can I only do that in UB? I am planning to travel outside UB and if it's possible I would like to extend it already on the day of arrival or a couple of days later.

Sorry this is a stupid question, but should you take mossie coils for sleeping in the Tourist gers in July, or do they burn horse manure or something like it to do the job. I don't want to drag them all the way there if I don't need them but can't stand them dive bombing me either, if we need them.

Hello,I'd need some suggestions about my next trip to Mongolia.I'll arrive in Beijing and I'll stay 3 weeks so I think I'll have only 2 weeks to spend in Mongolia.I'd like to have a good hostel/guesthouse in UB, for I'd like to contact it before trying to organize my trip by jeep ( I'd like to see as much as possible)with other people.Do you have any suggestions about hostel or itinerary?Which are the best things to see?

I will be in UB on June 29 for a month. I am hoping to arrange/join a tour between June 30 to July 10, back to UB for Naadam festival on July 11-12, then arrange/join another tour between July 13 to July 28. It is also ok to go for a month long tour staring June 30 to July 28 and attend Naadam festival outside UB. I am traveling by myself and it will be my first trip to Mongolia. I am really appreciate for help/suggestion of itineraries, tour operators, and advices.

I have booked my trip with a GH to the Gobi , now was thinking of doing Khovsgol and horse trek but just getting my own flight to Moron and arriving at a guest house and organizing the horse trek from there.

Does any one have any experience with doing it this way? Should I plan it and pay the guest house in UB to line me up a tour?
