I was planning on spending a week in Western Mongolia flying too Ulgii around the 15th April and was wondering is it possible to get out to the mountain regions of Bayan Ulgii at this time. I have recently heard that in APRIL there will be a lot of snow ~ Is it worth going to the Western region at this time or would i be restricted due to snow and high water levels from snow melt ~ would the roads be open to get to the Bayan Ulgi region.

Your advice would be very much appreciated.

Cheers

Steve

Well, you are very likely to be unable to get to the Altai Tavan Bogd National Park, because of the snow and flash flooding if the weather is warm. It is still a bit early to go visiting these remote places.
